Internet Club:

In 2001 the GWCC with support of UNIFEM started its Internet Club -using its teaching computer lab- opening every Thursday from 8:30am to 8:00pm for the use of public with modest membership fees. The club has allowed girls the chance to access the external world and be more exposed to the most up to date research, information, and news in a safe, comfortable, and stimulating atmosphere.

In the second stage 2002, with the support of the Canada Fund Program for Local Initiative and UNDP a separate Girls Internet Club consists of 5 PC was open for the public in the same building of GWCC under the administration of the GWCC.

In 2003 with a donation of 5 PC from the Canada Fund Program for Local Initiative, the Internet club's capacity has been enlarged and the Club number of visitors has been tremendously increased.

In 2004, for easier and faster access to the Internet GWCC has connected ISDN service which was very effective and helpful even for the students during searching for some information related to their lessons or activities.

Pen Pal Project:

The GWCC has started a pen-pal Friendship group with young Canadian students for girls to allowing international dialogues with each other. With events of 11 September, the program has almost stopped, but the GWCC is aiming to reactivate it soon.

Educational Excursions and Exercise Activities:

In addition to the main courses, students can take optional courses of swimming (the first time in Yemen for formal exercise classes for girls to be publicly advertised and in the official newspaper). The GWCC also runs  various craft classes, as well as our successful Dolls Theater Program, this program not only teaches them the skills of puppetry, including creating them and bringing them to life, but also the chance to develop their confidence as performance artists.

Regular educational excursions from the centre include; visits to the library of the British Council, the Museum of Sana’a, The Joint Oil Companies Clinic, and The French Cultural Center. All excursions become focal points for projects back in the classroom.

GWCC Newsletter:

The GWCC Newsletter is a valuable outlet for GWCC students to express their opinions and practice their writing skills. The Newsletter aims to build a network of young girls inside and outside of Yemen. The GWCC students will be its main editors and organizers.
